Where is Jordan located? The state of Jordan is located in the Near East and is also known as the Hashemite Kingdom. It is also counted among the Mashrek states. On the time zone map, which divides countries into world time zones along longitudes, Jordan is located in an area where there is a standard difference of 2 hours from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). The time zone is called “Eastern European Time” (EET) and the time on clocks in this area is always 2 hours ahead of clocks reflecting universal time (UTC+2). Bordering Countries of Jordan

It has a total land boundary of 1,619 km which includes 238 km with Israel, 97 km with Palestine, 375 km with Syria and 1,009 km with Iraq.

Despite having tense relations due to the presence of Islamic State militants within the area during 2014-2017, both countries have been working together for years now on issues such as trade agreements within their shared boundaries.

People in Jordan
Most of the Jordanian population are Arabs. Of these, in turn, about half are of Palestinian descent. Because of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians (cf. History of Israel), many Palestinians fled to the neighboring country of Jordan, which gave them refuge.
Languages in Jordan
The national language is Arabic, although there is a special Jordanian dialect, which is very similar to Standard Arabic. Due to the good education system in Jordan, many people also speak English, which is also the language of business. Then there are the dialects of the Bedouins.
Religions in Jordan
93 out of 100 Jordanians professed Sunni Islam, which is also the country’s state religion. But there are also Christians living there. There are also Kurdish Alevis, Shiites and people of other faiths.
