Hintersteiner See, Tyrol

Pack your bathing suit and spend a few beautiful days at the Hintersteiner See in Tyrol – this is currently tempting with refreshing temperatures of around 20 degrees and offers a breathtaking picture-book backdrop. Located in the Wilder Kaiser nature reserve in the Scheffau region, the wonderful mountain lake is easy to reach – there is a public bathing area that is subject to a fee and is also very suitable for families. A day ticket costs € 4.50 for adults and € 3 for children. With a guest card for the Wilder Kaiser region, you can take the bus from the village to Lake Hintersteiner free of charge, but you can also travel by car.

Achensee, Tyrol

The Achensee is the largest lake in Tyrol and offers five holiday resorts that invite you to linger. The water temperature is currently around 17 degrees – perfect for cooling off! A phenomenal natural backdrop that is second to none awaits you here. Surrounded by the Tyrolean Alps, you can pursue various water sports activities, diving or just chilling out – the Achensee is a real paradise for nature lovers and is perfect for a relaxing home vacation. In addition, the lake can be easily reached by public transport, and there are plenty of parking spaces.

Prebersee, Salzburg

The Prebersee in Salzburg is located at 1,514 m above sea level and is the ideal stopover on a hiking excursion. Of course, you can also reach the lake in Tamsweg by car and jump straight into the 17 degree cool water. The Prebersee is actually not a swimming lake, but you can still go swimming in certain places. You just have to adhere to certain rules of conduct, as the lake is in a nature reserve.

Traunsee, Upper Austria

For die-hard swimmers, a trip to the Traunsee in Upper Austria is currently recommended. This tempts with a water temperature of 17 degrees and is simply perfect to recover from the hot temperatures. The Traunsee-Almtal region is also perfect for an active holiday in summer – from climbing to mountain biking, there is a wide range of outdoor activities on offer.
